Christmas Market: December 2, 9, 16, 23

Japan's Oldest Christmas Market

In the winter of 1873, German engineer Kurt Netto held the first Christmas celebration in Japan with the local villagers. In remembrance of that event, the Tenshikan building and former Kosaka Mine Office are decked with festive lights and decorations for the month of December.
Vendors selling food like sausages, cookies, and mulled wine as well as stalls selling wreaths and ornaments will fill the Christmas market.
